About Delaney Park
- Delaney Park is one of Orlando's oldest parks, originally called Duckworth Park and renamed in 1959; it is 7.25 acres with oak-shaded areas, ball fields, playgrounds and picnic facilities. Source
- The neighborhood south of downtown is known for brick streets, homes from the 1920s to today, large oaks, and its closeness to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando's Amtrak station. Source
- Orlando Magazine describes Delaney Park and neighbors Lake Davis, Lake Cherokee, Lake Weldona, Lancaster Park and Wadeview Park as quiet residential streets framed by the 408 Expressway to the north and Orange Avenue to the west. Source
- The homes span Mediterranean, Tudor Revival and Colonial styles, mostly from the 1920s to the 1950s. Source
- Orange Avenue south of the 408, once industrial and called Downtown South, became an Orlando Main Street District known as SoDo, with boutiques, major retailers, restaurants and high-rise apartments since 2010. Source
- Nearby are Orlando Health's medical campus, the Pulse Memorial, and Orlando's 1926 Mission Revival train station, which serves Amtrak and SunRail. Source
