What an ITIN is and what it is not
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) lets you file taxes and meet your U.S. tax obligations. It does not give work authorization, it does not change immigration status and it does not make you eligible for Social Security benefits.
Keep your ITIN active
An ITIN that is not used on a federal tax return for three years in a row expires. If yours expired, you need to renew it before filing, or your refund can be delayed. We help with renewals too.
